ECW Conference / Annual Meeting

Episcopal Church Women of Province V
Conference and Annual Meeting April 28-30, 2017 Lansing, Michigan
Keynote Speaker: Lelanda Lee

The Episcopal Church Women of the Diocese of Western Michigan are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Province V ECW Conference and Annual Meeting to be held Friday through Sunday, April 28 – 30, at St. David’s Episcopal Church, Lansing, Michigan. The conference will open for registration check-in beginning at 4:00 p.m. Friday and close on Sunday following the morning Eucharist.

We have a full and exciting weekend planned. This year’s general business meeting is especially important since it includes election of the Province V ECW Representative to the National ECW Board, and the United Thank Offering Province V Representative to the National ECW Board, for three year terms beginning in 2018. For your spiritual enrichment, our keynote speaker and leader for the week- end is Lelanda Lee. Lelanda will be leading us in “Exploring the Meaning of Being My Sister’s Keeper” through prayer, storytelling, reflection, and practical exercises.

Lelanda is a writer, poet, and church and community leader, who lives in northern Colorado with her husband, mother, and brother.

Raised in a refugee-immigrant Asian family in Detroit, Lelanda was shaped by Motown and the Civil Rights and Women’s Movements of the 1960s. Baptized and confirmed in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, Lelanda found the Episcopal Church in Amarillo, Texas, in the mid 1990s, when she attended the Episcopal day school’s children’s chapel with her 9-year old daughter. Lelanda continues her journey with the Episcopal Church while also thinking about the concoction of humanity’s longings and foibles – how desire, envy, and loss become the heartbeat of the people.
